MAC Studio Finish Concealer

I've never entered the world of concealer too much I feel I have been lucky with quite good skin. Recently I have been breaking out and had too many late nights so those dark circles are appearing so decided to invest. My Collection 2000 Long Lasting Concealer is empty and I wasn't a big of fan as some people (for £4 though who's complaining)?

I went to Milton Keynes the other day which means beauty shopping (Northampton please open a MAC!) I picked up MAC's Studio Finish Concealer.

It's cute and tiny!

I was matched up to NC35 which is a bit lighter than normal is perfect for under my eyes! This is quite a thick concealer so be careful as it will crease if you do not have a light touch. I find taking a clean ring finger and patting this under the eyes gently works a treat, no brushes needed.

This product has SPF 35 which is great for summer months but I'm not sure how it will look under a camera flash. I will let you know this weekend!

This isn't the cheapest concealer around at £14.50 but a little goes a long way and the staying power is really great - I find you can go 6 hours without a touch up!

I thing if you were going to dip into MAC then this is a great start as it's one of their cheaper products but will make a big difference to how you long!

Halloween Costumes with Vision Direct

I was contacted a while back by Vision Direct to try out some of their halloween contact lenses. I actually wear contact lenses on an almost daily basis so thought I would be able to write an honest review for those sceptical.

There are so many to choose from it was so hard picking one! I was kindly sent the Phantasee Vampire lenses ones which I LOVE. I really liked the look of the cat eyes and the spider ones too! Check out the full range here!

They are really soft and easy to put in which surprised me as I thought they would feel different to my normal ones! Once in I was amazed at how comfortable they were. I was sent some multi use solution too but as with any contact lenses I wouldn't advise you wait until Halloween 2013 to whip them out again but you can wear them a few times during halloween week.

I thought I would use these lenses to give me inspiration for a vampire halloween party look!

I so should have been cast in Twilight.

Make Up

I decided to just go for a simple look. I used my Urban Decay Naked palette for the eyes just mixing Gunmetal and Creep together and blending it all across the lid & smudging it under too. I then just went for my L'oreal Million Lashes mascara as I think fake eyelashes will take away the focus from the lenses. I then went for a plain base and used my Yves Rocher Moistuirsing Cream Lipstick in Rouge for a sultry look. And done!

1- River Island - £50
2-  New Look - £27.99
3- River Island - £35
4- Toshop - £34

For my sexy vampire look I think a fitted dress will give you amazing curves! I love the gothic materials out right now, leather and velvet screams goth and the baroque print makes me think of the reinassiance so luxury! Dipped hem is still in fashion and this New Look dress means you don't have to wear a horrible cape ;)

I hope this gives you some ideas if you need a last minute halloween party outfit!

Here's some random edited vampire pics I took just for laughs!

SCARY STUFF - I wish!

LOOK Mattify Me

I haven't blogged all week! Last weekend was a very heavy one and then my laptop broke and I am back at work so I just haven't been able to blog I'm afraid. I think this photos so how I got drunker throughout the night!

Anyways, onto today's review.

I hate bring my MAC MSF into town with me on nights out. I am just not okay with a £20+ powder cracking due to my idiocy. (Yet I have no issues with my newly smashed iPhone screen, shows my priorities!) So I have been on the hunt for cheap and cheerful powders just to brush on during bathroom trips.

Mattify Me is part of LOOK beauty's make up range only available in Superdrug. I picked this up in a sale for £4 but it is usually £8. Perhaps not the cheapest on the drug store market.

I really like the sturdy packaging and love the fact it comes with a mirror unlike loads of powders lately!

It only comes in one colour, transulcent, but really it acts as a blotting powder; it just takes away any shine so there is no need for it to add colour. I am dark skinned and this doesn't make me look pale or ghastly so a winner for me. I like that is doesn't give you a caked make up look but just gently removes the sweat from dancing glowing shine we all get on a hot and heavy night out.

Not much else to really say about such a simple product but I highly recommend.

VIVO Eyeshadows

I've really been into eye shadow at the moment and saw Kayleigh over at Couture Girl write a post about a cranberry smoky eye look which I thought looked amazing. Now I cannot afford MAC eyeshadows right now so was browsing for a good dupe.

Enter Tesco and it's VIVO brand.

VIVO Mink & VIVO Smokey Pink

I really love the combination of these on my eye as a smokey eye look. They are nicely pigmented with minimal fallout but I like the fact they blend so easily as this is my biggest problem when applying eyeshadow - I end up looking like I've been punched in the face!

Oh the best part?  The are £1 each!

Bobbi Brown Christmas Collection

I have never been one for eyeshadow, my Urban Decay Naked Palette has been the only ones I own actually, but recently when I'm going out I have been dabbing a tiny bit one. I was browsing the Bobbi Brown website (as you do) and came across their Christmas Collection. IT IS AMAZING.
Bellini Lip and Eye Palette
Way too expensive but those lip colours look good enough to eat!
Black Pearl Eye Palette
The perfect palette for a dramatic smokey eye!
Rich Caviar Eye Palette
I prefer this palette to the one above as it would create a much more subtle look. As I have brown eyes I think this would suit me a lot more than the other one!
Uber Nude Lip and Eye Palette
I love every colour in this palette and the fact there's a lipgloss, lipstick and eyeshadows.
Shimmer Brick Compact - 24 Karat
I think this would be the most beautiful highlighter ever. I always wanted the Rose Quartz brick but this one would be first on my list now!

Such a beaut collection.

Barry M Amethyst Glitter

Barry M isn't brand I really go to unless it's for nail polishes, I have quite the collection. Boots had a 3 for 2 sale and I needed a new black nail polish and saw this glittery lovliness. Colour 354 Amethyst Glitter is full of tiny hexagonal glitter pieces in gold, pink, purple and blue along with teeny tiny flecks of green. It's one of those glitters that will go with every outfit - especially jeans I find!

I find with some glitter polishes it can go goopy and slide right off but this dries really nicely. I've had this on for 4 days now and there's minimal chipping but that is with a top coat over it. (If anyone knows a quick effective way of removing glitter nail polish please let me know!)

I don't usually wear all glitter on every nail but I think this would look nice with just one layer of the glitter over a black for a galaxy type effect!

Amethyst Glitter is available from Boots for £2.99. I may just have to pick up the gorgeous Rose Quartz Glitter as well!

Face Mask Wishlist.

Face Masks

Recently my skin has been a bit dull, dry and well a nightmare. Luckily I'm not breaking out but I feel that it could do with some brightening! I tried using the Rodial 5 Minute Facial samples given to me in this months GlossyBox but I didn't find them affecting my skin very much.

I have seen face masks doing the rounds on blogs lately so here's my wishlist!

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask £30/50ml - Aimed at making the skin look brighter & radiant and I like that it will tingle as that means it's working to me! A bit expensive for 50ml though!

Origins Drink Up Intensive £20/100ml - A blogger favourite it seems! I like that you leave it on overnight as a deeply nourishing moisturiser. I would like to have this along with a proper mask for perfect skin!

Origins Clear Improvement Mask £20/100ml - Best for clogged pores which I can sometimes suffer with. It has charcoal in it which draws out any dirt and will help keep your skin clear from blackheads!

Body Shop Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask £12/100ml -Similar to the Drink Up Intensive but cheaper. I always have mixed views about the body shop - I find the smells to be a little weird!

Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed £11/100ml - This is a mask for greasy skin which mine isn't but I find Soap & Glory to always work on my skin and have never been disappointed with any of their products!

Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque £27/60ml - I know Anna over at Vivianna Does Makeup loves this and she has fab skin so I basically just want it for that reason alone!

If you have used any of these I would love to know or if you have used a few I would be so grateful if you could recommend one for me!

As my ankle has limited me to staying in most of the week (apart from a little shopping trip to give my leg some exercise) I have had time to think of a few things I would love to receive for my birthday! My mum always gets me to write a list of Birthday/Christmas presents around this time as she finds it so hard to buy for me!
