Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

Another Revlon product!? They are fast becoming my favourite drug store brand! I picked up a Lip Butter as these were probably the biggest anticipated release last year & I had yet to try one. The product gives a sheer coverage as it is more of a balm than a lipstick which applies so well as it really is as soft as butter! Berry Smoothie is a pinky purple which is a colour that will go with any outfit and gives a polished finished without looking like you're dressed up to the nines. I've nearly used it all up already in like 3 weeks!

There are over 15 colours in the collection and some of them will be making an appearance on my lips when the weather warms up but I am set for lip products right now I think!

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter are on sale for £5 down from £7.99 in Boots - right now!

2012 Make Up Favourites

Sorry this is a bit late but thought I would share with you my top make up picks of 2012. It was really hard to narrow it down to just one of each product but I did it! Here's what made the cut;

Primer
GOSH BB Cream

So as you can see this is a BB cream but also triples up as a moisturiser & primer. I just find it's a good all over base that sits nicely under my foundation if I wear it but also looks great on it's own if you like a sheer coverage like me!

Foundation
L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation

I was a MAC foundation kinda gal before this came out. And when it came out I was converted on my first day. It is the perfect shade for me & just gives a medium coverage with a gorgeous glow. I don't think I will find anything better in a long time! I did a review back in August when I discovered this bad boy!

Eyebrows
HD Brow Palette

Every Glossybox lady has one of these and that was exactly how I was introduced. This palette has led to me getting the treatment done a few times and my eyebrows always look amazing after! I will definitely repurchase this as I have had it around 6 months, used it everyday and haven't even hit pan yet.

Powder
VIVO Compact Powder

As much as I love my MAC Mineralise Skin Finish it is a hefty £21.50 and I am so scared of cracking it that I never let it leave my make up counter. I discovered Tesco's VIVO Powder and was drawn to the matte finish and selection of darker shades the range offered. It lasts absolutely ages, I got mine around August and am only hitting pan now. At only £4 I love this!

Mascara
Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Lashes

I may only have discovered this in December but I loved it so much I got three tubes! Massive long thick lashes which dry quickly and don't look clumpy = winner. It has a black kohl effect which I love. For a more in depth review click here!

Concealer
MAC Studio Finish Concealer

I love this for everything - under my eyes and blemishes. It gives a really full coverage so I apply it lightly with a clean finger & pat on the areas it is needed. I am trying so hard not to spend lots of money on make up in the next few months but will have to fork out another £14.50 for this as I love it. Saying that I would like to try the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer as I've heard that is the best high end concealer around.

Eyeliner
Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama 24h Gel Liner

Bit of a mouthful to say but the most amazing dupe for the Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner and only £7.99. I have gone off liquid liners since the release of this and just find it stays in place all day and is incredibly black. It's very easy to create the look you want with this; my personal look is on the lash line with a subtle flick at the end.

Bronzer / Highlighter
Sleek Contour Compact

I have gone through two of these this year. It's the perfect shade for my skin & just allows me to have lovely cheekbones (instead of my slightly chubby cheeks). The bronzer is dark matte with no shimmer at all which is great and the highlighter is golden shimmery to add that glow. I like that the highlighter & bronzer  are in one compact as they complement each other perfectly and saves me trying to find one of each.

Lipstick
Kate Moss for Rimmel in 08

This lipstick was from Kate Moss' first collection for Rimmel. The colour is a "your lips but better" and probably isn't my most favourite but is definitely the lipstick I have reached for the most throughout the year. It just goes with every outfit and as much as I love my red lipstick I rarely sport it.

Blusher
MAC Mocha

Just the most perfect pink for my skin tone, quite a deep blue toned pink which gives me a subtle pinched look on the apple of my cheek. I got this for Christmas in 2011 & haven't even hit pan yet when I have used it at least twice a week for the year! Love it!

Phew! That was a lot to go through. I can't wait to find some new exciting products to love in 2013 so watch this space!

MAC Pro Lip Palettes

So just as I checked my emails before bed last night and I came across an email from MAC  in my mailbox. It was to promote the Pro Lip Palettes, something that I had completely overlooked. I love MAC lipsticks but have banned myself from buying them as they are £14 a pop and that's an expensive habit to have. These palettes are £35 each and contain 6 shades. Considering 6 lipsticks will set you back £84 this is actually amazing value and a great way to try a variety of shades of your favourite lip colour.

Modern Browns Palette

Editorial Reds Palette

Editorial Orange Palette

Preferred Pinks Palette

Select Plums Palette

I absolutely love the preferred pinks palette as it has some safe shades as well as out there purples! The editorial oranges palette would be the perfect palette for your summer holiday with the blogger favourite Morange making an appearance. The editorial reds palette has some reds I would love to try including Ruby Woo & Russian Red. As much as I love these palettes and one will be making an appearance in the spring time (it's just narrowing it down to one that's the problem) I do have one teeny tiny moan. I would much prefer there was a bigger mix up with colours; a few pinks, a nude, a red and a plum would mean all the colours would be used up swiftly as the chances of 6 different plums suiting you are slim depending on your skin colour. But one way around this is to mix colours together with a clean lip brush.

Honestly cannot decide which one I want and I am only going to treat myself to this when I have lost 14 pounds. That's motivation right there! I'm off to go get the ingredients for spinach smoothies right now...

Revlon PhotoReady Blusher

Whilst I was rearranging all my make up over Christmas (as all us beauty bloggers did at some point) I realised I had forgotten to share this little gem with you. Say hello to Revlon's Photoready Cream Blusher in Flushed Rougissant. Without a doubt the brightest colour in my blusher collection, Flush Rougissant is almost a neon blue toned pink in the pot but translates into a proper pinky flush of colour on the apples of your cheeks. The product is quite sheer so you have to build it up if you want proper rosy chubbers. The swatch above is about 3/4 layers but I wanted to show you the colour on skin. It is definitely a lightweight formula which doesn't make your make up look cakey but leaves a dewy finish which I personally love.

There are two other colours available in the range which include a nude colour and a gorgeous peachy orange, neither of which really showed up on my skin.

Revlon's PhotoReady Cream Blush is available from Boots for £7.99

I would love to get to a place where I am 100% happy with my body but I'm not really unhappy with how I look anyways. I basically just want to make memories for myself before I settle down and have a family so this is officially my Before Kids Bucket list. Of course there is so much more I want to do but if I could do all this things before I'm 25 I will be a very happy girl.

All of these goals will be on a separate page along the header bar. When a goal has been completed I will colour in the writing so you can keep track of how I am doing!

I would love to encourage you all to do one of these as I found it very uplifting & inspiring to think of things I want to do! Please link me your lists if you do one!

Laura Mercier Bonne Mine Palette

I decided to delve into the world of Space NK this Xmas as they were having a fantastic sale. I only picked up two things one being the Laura Mecier Bonne Mine Palette for a cracking £8.50 down from £18.50. I really love the Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinter Moisturiser and my arm is always covered in swatches when I am at the counter in John Lewis (next on my wishlist - a peach blusher!)

The packaging isn't exactly travel friendly but if you are travel you can always put an elastic band around it. Plus it's compact and pretty and you wouldn't have to carry around other bronzers/blushers all day. As you can see from the picture above there are four cards which slide out to show how to use each of the types of products which is quite handy.

There are 3 types of products which are all a cream formula but once blended look like powder; firstly the large bronzer veil on the right which you blend into the hollows of your face, next two cheek veils for the apples of your cheeks and finally two glow veils to highlight under the brow bone, cupid's bow & above the cheekbones.

Left to Right - Top glow veil, top cheek veil, bottom glow veil, bottom cheek veil & bronzer veil.

As you can see the colours are lovely and warm which is the look I always go for - a healthy glow. I actually really love the bottom glow veil as a cream eyeshadow. They are fairly pigmented but definitely something that can be build up to give a stronger look.

I'm not sure if you can still pick this up in the sale but I would still pay £18.50 for this as you get a lot of different products to try out and they really are lovely. I would especially recommend this for girls with olive to dark skin!

Happy Saturday!

Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara Smoky Lash

Whenever I go for a drug store mascara I always opt for either L'Oreal or Maybelline. I have tried a few Rimmel and Maxfactor ones but just didn't get along with them. I saw a 3 for 2 offer in Superdrug on Maybelline products and thought I would snap up a couple of these!

There are already some Colossal Volume mascara's out there but what drew me to this one was it says it has a black kohl effect which should help give eyes a smoky eye look. It also claims to not clump. The packaging is a super bright yellow which doesn't make it look like a high brand but it is easy to find in amongst all your make up.

I love big bristly brushes and as much as I love Benefit's They're Real I still can't get on board with the brush! I just find they are the best for adding volume to my lashes.

These are my lashes with 2 coats of the mascara on. I really like the effect; it isn't a wet mascara, it drys really quickly which is good for me as 1. I tend to sneeze when applying mascara and 2. my eyelashes touch my skin as they get quite long so it doesn't leave any residue!

As with all mascara's you should throw them out every 3 months in my opinion as they are touching a very sensitive part of your body. But also as this is a drying mascara I think it may dry up quicker than other ones.

I would definitely recommend this mascara and I managed to pick up one for £4.99 and I've stocked up on a few extras. I would even go as far to say it's better than Benefit's They're Real. BAM.

Head down to Superdrug and pick one up!
