What to pack for a flight.

I'm incredibly luckily that I can't even count the amount of times, so I guess it's a very good thing I love flying. My friends don't understand the fascination but I love the thrill of travelling to a different place.

Tomorrow I will show you what I will be wearing and what I'm packing in my hand luggage but today I'm going to share my rules for flying.

Do not wear heels.  I will laugh in your face if you fall over trying to get your suitcase off the luggage carousel. Oh, and if the plane goes down and you have stilettos on you will be bare foot when we are stranded on a desert island 'cause you can't go down the emergency slide in them.

Bring a scarf and extra pair of socks. Why are planes so cold?! I hate being cold so these will keep you warm and the scarf will protect your clothes if you are clumsy pup like me and spill stuff down you all the time. If you wear flights bring them but for a 2 hour flight I think I may be okay so just so fluffy ones to keep my toes warm is enough! It goes without saying that skirts and shorts are also a no-no as you will freeze your nips off.

Don't wear jeans or a belt. Of course, wear your seat belt but anything else tight fitting is just going to make you uncomfortable.

Wear a sports bra. Any day spent travelling is a long one. Every girl knows that as soon as you get home, there's no better feeling than whipping off your bra! A sports bra will give you support and leave you comfy enough for the flight. It will also avoid the man with the metal detector in security looking and being too close to your goodies ;)

Pack a moisturiser.  Slap a load on your face before take off and your skin won't be as dehydrated as others when you step off the plane. Flying really  is terrible for your skin!

Drink water. I don't touch anything else on flights, the pressure and everything is awful and it's easy to develop headaches etc. I would never touch alcohol on a plane; what happens if something happens and I'm too intoxicated to save myself. An one litre bottle of water should be enough for a 2 hours flight.

Layer up. Chances are where you are going is a little warmer so wear things you can remove once you are in Arrivals.

Bring a big bag. Like massive. Some bloody airlines (Ryanair I'm looking at you), only allow one piece of hand luggage. So say you do some Duty Free shopping and have your handbag and then the bag with 3 bottles of rum in; they will charge you extra. You need to be able to fit all your shopping in too. So don't get caught out and bring one of your smaller bags!

Choose uncomplicated jewellery. If you have lots of clasps you will take forever in security and also have the risk you may lose the items if you aren't careful. I will probably go for my watch as it barely leaves my wrist and I feel naked without it and maybe a ring/long necklace which can be whipped off in a flash!

What I Pack For a Trip - Skincare

Ahh, probably my favourite part to pack after clothes. Let's see what I've packed this time shall we? I'm so surprise all of this and my hair care have all fit into my Cath Kidston wash bag! Hurrah!

Do you think I have enough cute mini bottles?

Primark Beauty Face Wipes - Cheap and effective of getting some of the crap off my face before cleansing!

Venus Gilette Razor - For the obvious use of getting rid of unwanted hair. The Divine one is my favourite!

Soap & Glory Clean On Me & Flake Away - My favourite shower duo ever. I rub in the flake away and then use the shower creme to buff it all away. Soft, soft skin be mine.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter - There is nothing to moisturise my skin with. As you can tell I got mini versions of Soap and Glory things as the normal size ones are huge

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes - A sample from a Glossybox that I really like. I really need to start using eye creams more...

Sure Deodorant - This purchase was purely based on the cuteness of it. And I need to not be smelly on holiday, you never know I could have a holiday romance...

Johnson's Baby Oil - If I could only use product for the rest of my life it would be this, so therefore it must be packed. I use it for shaving, moisturising and removing stubborn mascara!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo - The only face moisturiser I am taking, it's light and helps with blemishes. It's a bit warmer over in Spain so don't want anything too heavy on my face.

Oral B Satin Tape - I'm a flosser and think not enough people in the UK do it (that I know of)!

Macleans White & Shine Toothpaste - For keeping teeth squeaky clean!

Carex Hand Gel - My friend Lyn is probably the biggest germaphobe I know and it's starting to rub off on me! Especially as I will be in a very populated city I definitely need this to stop me getting poorly!

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil -  To cleanse my skin each day!

Monu Micro-Exfoliant - Not for every day but if my skin needs a pick me up, I haven't actually used it before so will let you know how I get on.

Other things I will pack but aren't pictured cause I didn't want to bore you:

Toothbrush
Contact Lenses & Solution
Glasses
Muslin Cloths
Ear Buds
Cotton pads
A shower puffy thingy
Suntan lotion - Remind me to buy a small bottle!

What I pack for a trip - Haircare

I thought I would share with you what I'm packing for my trip next week. If I haven't mentioned the products before on my blog I will add mini reviews so you can find out more about the products!

Be warned: I am an over packer. When I last went to Magaluf, mine was the heaviest suitcase because I had packed so many hair, skin care & make up products and about 4 days worth of clothes. My friends loved that I nicked their clothes for the last 3 days!

I want to try and be pack savvy this time so please tell me if there's anything you think I don't need!

We are going to start with hair, which as I have said many a times, is the bane of my life. I have narrowed it down to 6 products which is amazing for me!

VO5 Gloss Me Smoothly Shampoo & Conditioner - I managed to find a reduced of these at work for 98p and it was just a bonus that I actually like them. I really don't care about shampoos as they are used to get rid of any dirt and I usually use a deep conditioning treatment once a week (I've also been told I should only wash my hair twice a week due to it's dryness) so I'm not so bothered about the other conditioner. They are a good enough size for me and my sister to share throughout the trip.

Fantasia Hair Polisher Heat Protector Straightening Serum - What a mouthful eh? Although I do not have afro hair, I do have very dry hair (thanks Dad). I have used this product for years on and off and just rediscovered my love for it. It protects the hair from heat and cuts down blow drying time. It's very thick and helps keep your hair frizz free! Even if you do not have afro hair I would give this a go but be warned: Too much product and you will be a greasy mess! I will decant this into a small travel vile as I won't need a lot.

Coconut Oil - It really doesn't matter what brand just make sure the main ingredient is actually coconut oil! I use this in the shower between shampooing and conditioning as a treatment and also a tiny bit after straightening on the ends of my hair. Again I will only take a small pot of this as I will only need a tiny bit throughout the trip.

VO5 Smoothly Does It Tame & Shine Spray - This was included in my bargain gift set and I love using this right before I go out instead of hairspray as it makes my hair nice and shiny. I also use this before straightening to add some extra heat protection to my hair!

Schwarzkopf Got2b Powderful Volumizing Styling Powder - For when I need a little extra volume  in the evenings!

Next stop - Skincare (it's a biggie)!

10 things that have made me happy lately.

1. I'm going to my first festival this summer! V Festival 2013 babes! I'm so excited to have a long weekend with a group of friends and be drunk, merry and most importantly see Beyoncé!

2. Still loving smoothies at the moment, I try and have a few for breakfast throughout the week. I made a really yummy one today; banana, frozen berries, orange juice, yogurt and honey.

3. Of course it's less than a week until my holiday.

4. Say hello to my new car, Max! This was a much needed purchase as my car wasn't safe anymore and is being scrapped. Extremely happy with this purchase :)

5. I went to the cinema twice last week (gotta use my unlimited card sometimes). I saw I give it a year, which was really funny and Stephen Merchant was brilliant in it. I also watched A good day to die hard; I haven't seen any of the other films but think Bruce Willis is pretty cool! It didn't have much of a story line but lots of explosions.

6. I've been really into experimenting with what I wear lately and trying to incorporate old items with new ones and I've come up with some really cool outfits which makes me happy as I don't have to buy some new clothes!

7. These snack bars are my life. They are actually amazing and you kinda get the same satisfaction of eating a chocolate bar and know it's a bit healthier too!

8. Really appreciating my friends this week, there's been a few tough times and it's been really lovely seeing us all pull together! I know it's under bad circumstances but it's good to know if I need my friends they will be there!

9. Fitting into a some old shorts I thought I was going to have to throw out because of my big ol' ass. Apparently it's not so big anymore - Result!

10. I had 3 days off in a row last week (in my industry I usually only get one day off at a time). I was lazy and didn't really get much done but I do not care!

Neal's Yard Remedies Beauty Balm

I love the concept behind Neal's Yard Remedies as I like the idea of putting good ingredients into my skin and knowing it's natural! Their beauty balm is a quite expensive product (although the brand isn't the cheapest out there), but is my favourite product I have tried so far from the company.

NYR say "The exceptionally high levels of wild rosehip oil – a potent antioxidant proven to help repair, firm and smooth the skin – are combined with geranium, starflower, hemp and rosemary seed oil, to help decongest and enrich the skin, restoring its natural radiance."

The balm has so many uses, cleanser, face mask, moisturiser, cuticle oil...the list goes on. A little goes an awfully long way so don't let the price put you off. I usually use this as a cleanser/deep treatment for my face. It removes heavy make up beautifully; rub some on your face and leave it for 5 minutes to allow the oils to absorb into the skin. Then take a muslin cloth (you receive a free pure cotton muslin cloth with purchase) and use hot water and the cloth to buff away the product and your make up.

The closest product this can be compared to is the Eve Lom Cleanser which I had a sample of. Now I hated the Eve Lom one for one reason; the smell. I just couldn't get along with it and it made me feel sick. I much prefer the NYR Beauty Balm as the smell is better and the texture is smoother in my opinion.

Let me know if you have any other uses for this product as I would love to find out!

My Mac Coat

Coat - ASOS
Top - Primark
Skirt - New Look
Belt - Primark
Tights - Primark
Scarf - Primark
Boots - New Look
Bag - Primark
Watch - Michael Kors
Bracelets - Miss Selfridge & Thomas Sabo
Ring - New Look
Nails - Models Own Bloo Bloo

This is what I wore on one of my days off last week and fancied dressing up a bit. My ASOS coat set me back £55 but it was the perfect Burberry-esque Mac I was looking for and it's a really nice length on me. I usually wear it to work as it's smarter than my beloved leather jacket!

My weekend has been pretty standard, I had to work yesterday morning to set up for an event today. I then got bored in the afternoon and needed to use up some old apples so me and Mum made an apple pie! It wasn't bad for my first attempt, the apples were delish but the pastry was a little savoury! Also I saw the new Die Hard - I've never seen the old ones but Bruce Willis is pretty awesome and I really liked it, a lot of car explosions and loud noises but the guy who playes Bruce Willis' son is HAWT.

Today I had a wedding fair at my work which involves eating cakes, pork baps and consuming an unhealthy amount of tea and coffee. Me and my sister also printed off all our bits for next week and booked the tickets to all the attractions we want to go to.

Time to go write my shopping list for next week, have a good Monday tomorrow!

Sephora Wishlist

Beautysets - Sephora Wishlist

One of the main attractions when I go to Barcelona will be going to a Sephora store. I think I will be in beauty heaven. I can no way afford all the above items but a girl can dream...

There are 3 brands I really want to try;

Fresh - In particular the brown sugar body polish and sugar lip tint in Coral.
Tarte - The Amazonian Clay Blush is a blogger favourite and I am keen to join the hype. The Amazonian Clay Brow Mousse seems like a different concept I would like to try out too!
Make Up For Ever - After reading many reviews I would love to try some sort of foundation/concealer type product as they seem to be a brilliant coverage!

The Stila colour balm lipstick comes in a great range of colours and they seem very similar to Revlon Lip Butters but as the price tag is a lot higher; hopefully a lot better! I haven't used a lot of Clinique products but I want to start investing in face masks and the Moisture Surge mask sounds as good as any.

The last thing and the thing I know I will buy over anything else is a rollerball. I don't understand why the UK market haven't caught onto this trend yet as I would rather have a lot of rollerballs at £20 a pop then one or two bottles of perfume at £40-50 a pop. I just think they are a great concept and I love carrying a perfume on me.

I hope I have enough spending money to treat myself to something but quite frankly I would rather spend my money on seeing the sights then on a make up product. Did I really just say that out loud?

Berry Body

Berry body - New Look
Skirt - Topshop
Belt - Republic
Tights - Primark
Chelsea Boots - New Look
Ring - Miss Selfridge
Watch - Michael Kors

This is what I wore to work this afternoon, I really liked it so thought I would share it with you! LFW has inspired me to dress up a little bit more but I would never look as stylish as the people at Somerset House.

This morning I made a big batch of spicy chicken noodle soup for the family to use up this week and man it was hot! Tonight I am staying in and looking forward to Geordie Shore (just one of my many guilty pleasures)! I'm so excited for tomorrow as I pick up my new car eeek and also have the next 3 days off work (I haven't had 2 days in a row off work since Christmas as I don't get weekends)! I plan on doing the bare minimum and spending the minimum as I am have no money after this car and going on holiday in 2 weeks!

February Clothing Haul.

Thought I would just show you a few things I've gotten the last couple of weeks on this sunny Sunday.

Black Skater Skirt -£16 - Topshop

Tall Disco Pants - £30 - Topshop Tall
Perhaps not American Apparel standard but without a doubt the best dupes I have found so far! Considering Topshop usually rip me off I was so happy these are the same price as most over dupes out there!

Large arm top - £12 - Miss Guided

Peplum T-shirt- £7.99 - New Look
I love how flattering peplum tops are and I love that this is casual! Most peplum tops are very smart and I love being more casual!

Khaki jacket - £30 - H&M

Been after a khaki jacket for ages and so happy I got this. I have worn it every day since I got it and can't even remember where my leather jacket is!
£4 - Primark

£4 - Primark
I love this Topshop rip offs with the slogan and cuffed sleeve. I mainly wear them around the house or for casual days but think I'm gunna wear one of these on the plane to Barcelona with a jumper over the top as I get really cold on planes!

Grey vest top - £4 - Primark
Necklaces - £3.99 each - New Look
Rings - £2.50 each - New Look
Phone case clutch - £4 - Primark

I love the phone cases where you can put cards in etc but refuse to pay £16 for one in certain shops. Primark have copied them and come out with a monochrome aztec print and a polka dot version. I have a thing for hamsa hands at the moment so picked up a necklace from New Look. It was BOGOF on all jewellery so I got a cross ring and necklace as well as a little peace sign ring too.

Really must stop spending as I can't wait to go to Sephora and Blanco in Barcelona, if I keep buying things I won't have anything to spend over there!

Saturday 16 February 2013

Photo Diary 03.

I've been loving word motif tops lately especially this black and white one which says epic and only £4 a pop in Primark.

Steak, pepper sauce and chips for Valentines Day which I cooked for my friend. Haven't had chips in about 6 weeks so they were amazing.

My friend Chloe created some Cath Kitson inspired nails for me. I had a Gelish manicure and prefer this so much more than acrylic nails!

Pancake day is a big deal in our house and we go all out with our toppings. No savoury ones either all sweet & naughty!

We had more snow earlier this week but it wasn't disruptive as last time (or as pretty)!

I'm still trying to continue eating healthily and been opted for lots of salads instead of carb loaded meals.

Nature Valley Sweet & Nutty bars are amazing. My favourite snack at the moment!

My Grandad showed me his old Psion handheld diary. It was a big as my head - how far technology has come...

I went shopping (again). Haul to follow tomorrow!

I was really looking forward to a sleepover with one of my best friends but she cancelled so now I'm trying to find something fun to do on a Saturday night. I want wineeeee!

MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Dupes: e.l.f Baked Bronzer & Baked Blush

Maui and Rich Rose

Rich Rose on top and Maui underneath
I adore MAC's Mineralise Skin Finishes and at around £21.50 a pop they are a very extravagant purchase. E.l.f has come to the rescue and released their versions which are simply named Baked Blush and Baked Bronzer. With 4 different colour blushers and 3 different bronzers there's definitely one that you will love and at £3.75 each you will love the price too.

It's a really simple product and there's not lots I can say about it. The packaging, a clear lid which snaps shut serves it's purpose. Application is easy with a blusher brush (I prefer MAC's 128) and the product is very pigmented so not a lot is needed and make sure you tap the brush before putting on your cheeks!

The colours are the main attraction of the product. Maui is a very golden shimmery bronzer which is a dupe for MAC's Gold Deposit and Rich Rose is a pinky gold with a shimmer which is as close of a dupe I have found for MAC's Stereo Rose. I can't even fault the texture of the powders, I honestly think these may be the best dupes out there.

Now for a weekend of working, I have 3 days off next week which I am going to use by going to the gym, blogging and hopefully test driving my new car!

Thursday 14 February 2013

I heart River Island Dresses.

river island dresses

I was browsing the River Island website and found so many dresses which I adored. I think they have found the right balance for Spring dresses, fun and flirty in length but have the right amount of colour (sometimes I find dresses are too bright to wear in March/April). It's not warm enough to flash lots of skin and I doubt it will be for ages so I love the little cut outs on the dresses (especially the neck line on the red skater dress) as they show a bit of extra skin without looking slutty. The prints are amazing and I like that you can team them with black tights and a cardigan or go all out and just wear super high stilettos. I really love all of these dresses and none of them are over £40 which is a bonus. I was a bit naughty and spent a lot on the Topshop website the other lunchtime but may have to return something so I can buy one. I think any of these would be fitting for a walk down Las Ramblas and stopping for cocktails (less than 3 weeks week!) Which one is your favourite?

Note: I'm not deliberately trying to avoid mentioning Valentine's Day, heck I'm all for it. I love getting flowers (not roses, I hate them) & using the day as an excuse to do something different. This is my first single one in about 4 years and I'm planning on cooking up a nice meal with one of my besties & then watching a girly film. La Fin.

e.l.f Studio Body Shimmer

I've really jumped on board of creamy formula blushes and highlighters at the moment. I just think they look so much more natural on the skin and give a more glowing complexion.

E.l.f says "Create sexy, soft shimmer for a healthy looking glow that is lightweight and comfortable. Great for using on cheeks, lips, eyes, and deécolleté. The convenient twist-up design is easy to use for quick application. Simply glide on this chic shimmer for a sunless, gorgeous glow"

Packaging
The packaging is kind of like a deodorant stick, you twist the little rotator and the product comes up. It's easy to use but I would have preferred it if the shape of the product was round rather than long and oval. I like that the product is little so I can carry more than one around ;)

Cosmic Coral

Mystic Moonlight

Formula

The product is quite stiff and doesn't apply as easily as I would like. I warm up the product by rubbing it on the back of my hand and then to my face, which really helps me apply it to the apple of cheeks or above my cheek bones. It's definitely best to apply with your fingers as the heat helps to blend the product into the skin.

Cosmic Coral - Mystic Moonlight

Colour

I picked up two out of the four colours available; Cosmic Coral which is my favourite. It's of course a pinky coral but has a lovely golden shimmer which I find really goes with tanned skin. I also picked up Mystic Moonlight which is a cool subtle highlighter in a muted pinky white colour but it's perhaps a little too light for my skin and isn't the best colour for darker tones.

There are two other colours available, Blazing Bronze, a typical cream bronzer and a Golden Glow, a yellow golden colour which I definitely do not like the look of.

At £3.75 a pop they aren't expensive and are nice products. They definitely aren't the best shimmer products out there and I think I prefer the much more expensive MAC MSF's to these but I really do recommend the the coral one! If you fancy trying one pick up your body shimmers here!

Monday 11 February 2013

e.l.f HD Blush

I made a cheeky purchase on e.l.f (eyes, lips, face) the other day. For anyone that doesn't know. e.l.f is an american make up brand that is definitely on the cheaper end of your budget. It is sold in stores like Target and most products are under $5. Luckily for us here in the UK we can get our mitts on their products online. We don't have access to the full range but there are so many good products which don't break the bank. If you check out their Facebook page or sign up to an email subscription they have amazing offers; I got 48%s off and free shipping on my order!

There are a few different types of products; mineral based, the e.l.f basic collection and the studio line. Although a tad more expensive (yet still no more than £6 a product at full price) the studio line is the one to go for. It's clear that more effort has gone into this line and you won't be disappointed.

I may have gone a bit overboard with my order but I got lots of beautiful new make up goodies to share with you. Today's product: e.l.f's HD Blush

Packaging

The packaging is lovely as it has a pump dispenser along with clear packaging so you can see how much you have left. Make sure you are super gentle with the pump; one whole pump and you will dispense enough blush to last you a week. At first I thought it was such a small bottle but now I realise why.

Formula

Research has told me this is a dupe of the Make Up For Ever HD Blushes (which I have never actually tried due to the price tag) this product is a liquid blush. It is a slightly watery formula but not really runny, I think the formula helps with application otherwise it would be too stiff to apply. After swatching this on my wrist I discovered it is best to apply a tiny amount on the back of the hand and then use a stippling brush to add it to the apples of the cheeks. I also tried applying it directly to my face but it is hard to get even coverage on both cheeks uses fingers.

Colour

I opted for the colour Headliner which is a warm rose pink with a slight shimmer which disappears once on the cheek. There are two other colours available; Superstar, a coral pink which would look beautiful in the summer and Diva, a bright blued toned pink which I think would be amazing on really dark skin but perhaps a bit too bold for my taste. Headliner provides a lovely flush of colour which last for hours as they are so pigmented. The colour does stay on a lot longer with a primer (which I will review also as e.l.f do a fabulous one!)

I really like this blusher as it is different from anything else I own. I find it a lot easier to apply than a cream blusher and has much more pigmentation than a powder based blusher. A winner in my book.

I'm going on holiday!

Images taken from Google.com

I'm so excited! I've booked a trip to Barcelona for in less than 4 weeks time! Me and my sister decided we needed to spend some time together just the two of us as even though we live in the same house our schedules clash like mad and we probably only have time for a conversation once a week! So it's time for a little adventure together....

I've never been to Barcelona before and I've always wanted to visit. We opted for this place over others as we didn't want to go on a beach holiday in March & be disappointed by the weather. We have the best of both worlds, lots of sights, great food and the beach if we desire.

I can't wait to get fresh juices and fruit from La Boquiera, look at the stained glass window in the Sagrada Familia and climb to the top of Mount Tibidabo. I think we will have such a ball.

Basically I wrote this post because I need your help! If you have any restaurants, bars (we love us some cocktails) or sights which you recommend for us please can you comment below. I'm a big fan of finding things off the beaten track so the more unusual the better!

23 days to go (I promise I won't do a daily countdown)!

Quote 002

Today's quote is a simple one. People say love, laughter etc are the things to make a happy life and they are, but I do think life is too short not to do the above things.

Eat Well

I may not be the skinniest of my friends but I probably eat the cleanest. 80% of the time I really watch what I am putting in to my body, I try to cook meals from scratch and I probably only have chips once a month (which is hard as I love them). Healthy food doesn't need to be bland though and I am big on flavour. I thought I would give up my clean eating a week into the new year but it's now February and I'm still going strong and thoroughly enjoying it.

This isn't to say I'm not bad. I love nothing more than going to a restaurant for a 3 course meal, maybe a cocktail or two and spending hours chatting away with friends. The other week me and 2 friends went to Café Rouge the other week, had some amazing food (Creme Brulée be mine), spent about 3 hours there gossiping and best of all I found an O2 Priority Moment so it only came to £20 each! I probably eat out about once a week but I go out clubbing a lot less now and would much rather get food in ma belly!

Travel Often

I've been very lucky to have been on some amazing holidays throughout my life time (Carribean, Miami, Egypt to name a few) but the best thing about them are the memories. Now I'm older I don't really get to go away with my family as much as our schedules clash like crazy, although we are going to Rome in July! I've done the whole Magaluf and clubby holidays and wouldn't have changed that for the world. But now I have bigger fish to fry. I don't have a lot of money right now but am determined once I've got my finances in order to visit some amazing places and get some adventure! My list includes:

- Driving the Almafi Coast
- Road trip from Sydney to Melbourne
- Go to a Full Moon Party in Thailand
- See the Northern Lights in Iceland
- Rollerskate along Venice Beach
- Go to the carnival in Rio
- Interrail around Eastern Europe

There's about 100 other places and adventures I want and I know it's a long shot but it's something to aspire to. I'm not a backpacking kinda gal but I want to see the beautiful places of the world. The world isn't actually that big and I intend to explore it. I believe travel can help open your eyes to how beautiful life can be. You develop a better understanding of different cultures and become more well rounded. Most importantly I want to travel  more so one day I can share some amazing stories with my kids and grandkids one day!

25 things about me

So to jump onboard with everyone else here's a few bits about me...

1. I have a phobia of cotton wool. I can use the pads and buds but I can't touch pure cotton wool. It makes me shiver, feel sick and I actually want to cry when I touch it.

2. I'm 5'10 and I wear high heels on nights out. So many lads with short man syndrome comment on my height as if it's a bad thing. I'm like I didn't ask you to chat to me and I didn't ask you to insult me because you are 5"8. Go away. If I was Taylor Swift or Adriana Lima (who are both 5"10) there wouldn't be a problem. Rant over.

3. I am terrible at looking after my iPhone. I think I've gone through 3 in a 2 year contract and the one I have now is cracked.

4. I eat so many bananas I could qualify for a monkey.

5. I've lived in 3 countries, UK, Germany and Cyprus. I plan on living abroad at some point in my life again.

6. I went to an all girls school. I was a complete tomboy before I went there at 13 so was really a blessing in disguise or I doubt I would be writing this blog!

7. I have a bet with a friend. If she wins, I have to get hakuna matata tattooed on me. And I never back out of a bet.

8. My parents discussed what they were going to call me for ages with Tia, Kirsty & Miki being the favourites. Dad then signed my birth certificate Tanice without telling my Mum. Kirsty is my middle name!

9. Which is funny because I don't remember the last time my Dad called me Tanice. He always calls me Neicey.

10. My room is beach themed as I wish it was summer all year long and I being on a tropical beach!

Rimmel Apocalips

Colours (Left to right) - Nova, Stellar and Luna

As much as I love blogging, I like most other bloggers with an interest in make up, allow myself to be sucked into crazes and hypes. The thing is I trust other bloggers opinions more than I do a magazines (which is why the beauty blogging world is has such a great reach); if I find many a great review on one product I must possess it. Enter Rimmel Apocalips.

Liquid lipstick is a new concept for me, big colour mixed with high shine. I wouldn't fork out over £20 for a YSL Glossy Stain as I just wasn't sure if they were "me". I rarely go for bold lips as I'm scared the colour bleeding and I don't like the clown look. The choice of colours in the Apocalips range really called to me and I went to pick up one as they were £5.99 in Boots. I came out with three. Quelle surprise.

Packaging

I love the packaging, I feel it keeps with outer space kind of theme and I really love the names of the colours. I'm a huge space geek. The bottle of the tubes are clear so you can see how much product you have left. There's nothing worse than running out in the middle of the night out.

I like the applicator, it's kind of like a doe foot one but has a micro-reservoir in it which collects a lot of product so it's quick to apply. Application is easy as you can line the lips and fill them in easily.

Colours

What drew me to these was the swatches I saw online. I've seen so many people moan that there isn't a lot of colour variety; I disagree. Eight colours is more than enough and apparently Rimmel have launched over colours abroad so maybe we will get them soon? Anyways I opted for Nova, a gorgeous blue toned pink, Stellar, a bright orangey red and finally Luna, a coral peach. I don't have a favourite as they are all great for different situations (Stellar is definitely a night lip where as Luna is a everyday colour). Celestial is next on my hit list.

The Product

When you apply the product it does feel like you are actually painting your lip. Less than a minute later it feels lightweight and shiny without leaving a sticky residue like some lip gloss types. What I love is that they do stain your lips, so when the gloss goes away (after an hour or two) you are left with a subtle colour on your lips for around 5 hours!

I really love these liquid lipsticks and I think Rimmel have done well. Revlon was clearly leading in the lip stakes in the drug store world but now they have a run for their money. The thing is I can't pick a favourite; Rimmel Apocalips or Revlon Lip Butters. May have to get a few more before my vote is cast...
